First off welcome to the holiday season. If you've nothing better to do this weekend and want to listen to some good live old time radio vissit http://www.radiooutofthepast.org for the third annual Christmas aka holiday marathon. Okay free plug over let's talk about this week. I finally got on Tower Of Terror and I've been meaning to talk about it at wttm and what with work being the usual postThanksgiving busy I thought I"d just say this. What the heck was I afraid of? I loved it. This week I start our Brunch with a bit of serial. Yes missspelling on purpose. We begin listening to The Spy Who Came In From The JCold this week. It's an espionage novel that's been numbered as one of the hundred greatest novels of all time. In our first episode Alec Lemus returns to England after being the station chief at Berlin's MI office. He's in for quite a surprise. I don't have a date on the episodes but the book came out in 1963. After episode 1 we have our mystery. It's our first look at Hercule Poirot. "Hercule Poirot's Christmas," by Agatha Christie takes place in 1938. This edition is from December 24 1986. Just who killed Simeon Lee? Was it his son David? Or Harry? Or George? Could it be Pilar the Spanish refugee? Was it Colnel Muster with the axe in the study? Oops wrong mystery. Enjoy. Full two hours in stereo. Questions or comments brunch@london.com and you can find me at myspace.com just look for Matt Cox it's as easy as grabing popcorn for aMortis Matine. Enjoy your weekend everyone.

We listen to Radio 3's parade's end from May 18 2003. This is the second part of our wWorld War I perspective. It's just a bit under three hours this week so if it takes you longer then a day to listen don't worry. It took me three. This is known as Madox Ford's best work. Enjoy. And happy Thanksgiving

This week we try three things. First a memorial to Fred my dear friend and co host who died last MOnday of cancer. You will be dearly missed and I hope that I flying solo can do the show half as well. Because we have a schedule we honour it and after a long intro from me we listen to part 5 of Whose Body from Jan 27 1974. Just who is the murderer? After that it's time for our two part salute to World War I. This week the German perspective with All Quiet On The Western Front from November 9 2008. Program in stereo with a warning. Due to language may not be appropriate for children. Then our memormials from Bob Acosta founder of radio out of the past. And we're trying something new. Endorsing podcasts we dig. Don't believe me? Check out www.mortismatinee.com and see what movie Scott and the fam have picked this week. Or how about checking out my friend minion to the mouse. Finally I'm at Disneyland to celebrate my friend Patrick Herd's birthday on Tuesday 25 November. If you see me say hey. Most importantly tell me what you'd like to hear on the show. I've already got a few surprises loaded in the works. Fred will be greatly missed and if I can do one tenth of what that man did I'll consider my life a good fullfillling one. Coments questions? hit me up at brunch@london.com or on the wttm forums if you're a member. Not sure about wttm? wWhy not? Go to www.windowtothemagic.com and find out what I'm talking about. If Fred was my mentor in how to play radio shows Paul is my podcast guru swami whatever. I know it'll be hard but enjoy. Matt Cox

With Fred in the hospital gravely ill this is my chance to go solo and yet while I'm flying solo I miss Fred. But fear not. Before Fred got to sick he left me a lesson plan for his hour. So here goes. We begin with Why Bother and hear about Arthur's experiences as a prisoner of war. After that we set sai with Jack Aubrey with HMS Surprise. The Surprise arrives in India where Steven's past is revissited. Finally we meet Lord Peter Whimsay with Whose Body which was first published in 1923. The serial was first produced in late 1973 and 1974 and starrs Ian Carmichael as lord peter. Enjoy and keep Fred in possitive thoughts. We begin this week with that chilling tale of WW Jacobs "The Monkey's Paw," written by WW Jacobs and presented by Christopher Lee as the last of his "Fireside Tales, from December 30 2004. After that we turn our thoughts to Fred who will play the final episode of "The Hound Of The Baskervilles," from June 28 1998. After that we proceed to the story none of you guessed. I go in to full detail in the program but I'll give this much away. Just go to http://www.amazon.com and look under the author Patrick O'brien. Once you've done that look at the third Aubrey novel. As I get ready to publish this our first episode in glorious stereo sound let me give you a word of warning. First use both ear buds for the best sound or a stereo or car stereo. But you're gonna want both speakers especially next week. Second ... this morning I got an email from our Chair Bob Acosta over at http://www.radiooutofthepast.org. Our dear friend and co host's health is taking a sharp decline sharper then planned so he has a doctor's apointment MOnday to just see what's going on. Full details to start the show but if you go right in to the drama and not listen to my intro then please pray for Fred. it's ... his breatheing. Next this week we're plahying Robert Louis Stevenson's Doctor Jekyl and Mr. Hyde and follow that with the ffirst episode of Hound of The Baskervilles. I do hope you enjoy. If you've got time drop Fred a quick word at brunch@london.com I'm sure he'll enjoy. Matt
